Casper Ruud and Denis Shapovalov meet in the final of the 2025 ATP Dallas Open on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Here's our Casper Ruud vs Denis Shapovalov prediction. This preview will also include a Casper Ruud vs Denis Shapovalov pick.

Casper Ruud Preview

Casper Ruud reached his first ATP final of the season in Dallas with a three-set win over Spain's Jaume Munar.

The two players exchanged the first two sets in identical scorelines of 6-2, but the third set was tight and required a tie-break. Munar served for the match at 5-4, but it was Ruud who had the last laugh, forcing a breaker and winning it 7-4.

Ruud has accounted for wins over James Duckworth, Michael Mmoh, and Yoshihito Nishioka to reach the semis. His win over Munar on Saturday was his ninth of 2025, and has only lost one match this year which was to Jakub Mensik at the Australian Open.

Ruud has won 12 ATP titles, but not a single one on indoor hard courts. His only hard-court title was outdoors in San Diego four years ago. His last ATP indoors final was the 2022 ATP Finals. He lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets.

Denis Shapovalov Preview

Denis Shapovalov continued his impressive of form on indoor hard courts by storming into his second final in as many months. Shapovalov won his second career title in Belgrade in November and has been in a rich vein of form in Dallas.

The Canadian began the week with a three-set win over Miomir Kecmanovic, maintaining his perfect record against the Serbian. In the second round, he causes the big upset by knocking out the top seed and World No. 4 Taylor Fritz in a deciding set tie-break.

Shapovalov defeated Tomas Machac routinely in the quarterfinals 7-6, 6-0 before he followed it up with another straight sets win over defending champion Tommy Paul for his second top 10 win of the week.

Casper Ruud vs Denis Shapovalov Head-To-Head

• Ruud and Shapovalov have played twice on the ATP Tour.

• Ruud won both meetings on clay courts in Geneva and Rome.

• This is their first meeting on hard courts.

Casper Ruud vs Denis Shapovalov Prediction

It's tough to go against the formbook in this match and Denis Shapovalov is enjoying the best week of his career without a doubt. He's been the best player throughout the week at the ATP Dallas Open after toppling two Top 10 players. He can add Ruud to that list if he beats him in the final and I'm confident he'll do that.

Shapovalov now owns 17 wins from 22 matches on indoor hard courts and has one title on the surface to boot (won last November). His resurgence is almost complete, and he will re-enter the top 50 regardless of the result. Give me Shapovalov in straight sets.

Nur’s Pick Denis Shapovalov in straight sets
