Elise Mertens and Ann Li meet in the final of the 2025 Singapore Open on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Here's our Elise Mertens vs Ann Li prediction. This preview will also include an Elise Mertens vs Ann Li pick.
Elise Mertens Preview
Elise Mertens continues her impressive run of form in 2025 by reaching her second final. The Belgian started her campaign in Singapore with a 6-1, 6-0 whitewash against American Taylor Townsend.
In the second round, Mertens dropped her only set of the week thus far against Tatjana Maria in a tie-break but eventually prevailed 6-7, 6-3, 6-1.
In the quarterfinal, she defeated Colombia's Camila Osorio in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, and in the semifinal beat China's Xinyu Wang 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 27 minutes.
Mertens lost her first final of this year in early January in Hobart to McCartney Kessler of the USA. And it is another American lurking in her wait in the final of the Singapore Open.
Ann Li Preview
Ann Li will contest her third career final at the WTA level in Singapore. She was champion in Tenerife four years ago but lost her other title match in Merida, Mexico to Turkey's Zeynep Sonmez just three months ago.
To get here, Li defeated Daria Saville, lucky loser Maria Timofeeva, and Kimberly Birrell. She earned a retirement win over top seed Anna Kalinskaya in the semifinal.
Li had won the first set against the Russian in a tie-break after recovering from a 2-4 deficit and broke Kalinskaya at the start of the second set before the match was decided.
Li has not dropped a set this week at the Singapore Open but has played three tie-breakers in her last two matches.

Elise Mertens vs Ann Li Prediction
Mertens is the heavy favorite in this final at -250. Those backing Li can profit handsomely. The American was instilled as the underdog at +175. The sets spread is also another market that can be exploited here with the over 2.5 sets paying off almost 1.5 times of the stake.
Mertens is an eight-time champion at Tour level, but last won a title in 2023 (Monastir). Her most recent final was a disappointing one as she lost to Kessler quite resoundingly 6-0 in the third. Li won her only WTA title in Tenerife back in 2021, and was a runner-up in her last final at the end of last season.
With both players looking in tremendous form throughout the week, the more coherent move is to take the current price of the over 20.5 games at -133 and if you have a large risk appetite, then Li to win is worth a nibble.
Nur’s Pick Over 20.5 games in the match
