Paula Badosa vs Olga Danilovic Prediction
Badosa is the overwhelming favorite to make the Australian Open quarterfinal here, but I'm aboard the Danilovic train. I've blindly opposed the Serbian before, disregarding her results because of the substandard level of competition to win two titles at the end of last year. But this is a player who should have motored the WTA rankings had it not been for injuries.
And she's been landing that lefty-angled first serve in the right spots this tournament. It has been a nightmare for the right-handers to deal with. Add to her ability to swing for the fences on any short balls, then it is clear that she's been highly underestimated. She's projected to break into the top 50 after the Australian Open, and right now, I won't put a ceiling on what she can achieve next week.
