Elena Rybakina vs Iva Jovic Head-To-Head
• Unsurprisingly, Rybakina and Jovic have never met at any level.
• Rybakina is 4-1 in 2025, winning three matches at the United Cup.
• Jovic finished her season in late November, so it made sense that she took an extended break in January.
Elena Rybakina vs Iva Jovic Prediction
After stumbling in the second round of the Australian Open last year, Rybakina couldn't have asked for a better draw this time to ease herself into contention and potentially reach the second week without using so much energy. She dropped only two games in her opening win against Emerson Jones. The only time Rybakina has lost a set was in the defeat to Swiatek at the United Cup. So this has been a clean start to the year for the Kazakhstani.
Two extensively inexperienced teenagers in the opening two rounds is such a dream draw and I don't think we can draw too many conclusions to Goran ivanisevic's words of wisdom as the new coach of Rybakina just yet.
Jovic was one of the standout young players on the ITF Tour last year and has already scored two Grand Slam main draw wins. She only turned 17 a month ago and will play with nothing to lose. That fearless approach will be needed in abundance against a red-hot Rybakina, but she is nowhere near the level required to beat the former Wimbledon champion.
Nur’s Pick Rybakina to win AND under 18.5 games
