Mayar Sherif Preview
Mayar Sherif is ranked 100th in the WTA rankings, which is almost 70 spots down from her career-high mark.
The Egyptian is making her second appearance at the Argnetina Open in Buenos Aires after reaching the semifinal on debut in 2021.
She's replicated her best achievement in this tournament and will look to go one better this week.
Sherif has accounted for wins over Strakhova, Mladenovic, and, most recently, in the quarterfinal against Argentina's Jazmin Ortenzi.
In the victory, the 28-year-old Sherif needed over three hours of playing time.
She hit six double faults and landed 72% of first serves. Sherif won 55% of service points and 47% of return points and saved an impressive 11 of 18 break points.
Sara Bejlek Preview
Czech teenager Sara Bejlek completed a fantastic turnaround in the other quarterfinal match at the 2024 Argentina Open in Buenos Aires.
Bejlek beat Leolia Jeanjean of France 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 in precisely two hours. In the victory, the 18-year-old accounted for two double faults and landed 81% of first serves.
She won 56% of service points (44/79) and 49% of return points (42/86). Bejlek saved three of the seven break points she faced in the match.
Bejlek is looking to reach her second final of 2024.

Mayar Sherif vs Sara Bejlek Prediction
Sherif's win over Ortenzi was a lot harder than expected, with breaks galore. The Egyptian's performance fell off from her convincing victory over Mladenovic. We know Bejlek is a rising star of Czech tennis and is extremely talented. While she can certainly get better, she reads the game well and has a touch of dexterity and variety, especially on clay, which can help shorten points. I feel Bejlek will tire out Sherif in this match, and the Egpyitian is coming off an elongated quarterfinal. Give me Bejlek at evens.
