Italy's team captain, Filippo Volandri, has named a strong lineup in their quest to defend the Davis Cup title. Last year, Italy won its first Davis Cup title in almost half a century after stunning Novak Djokovic's Serbia in the semifinal and then dismissing Australia in the final.

Jannik Sinner was the star of the show, and the 23-year-old arrived in Malaga as the undisputed men's World No. 1. Sinner has put together one of the best seasons by an ATP player in history, winning two Grand Slams, three Masters titles and the ATP Finals this past week in his home country.

He will be integral to Italy's success once more. He will be joined by Lorenzo Musetti and Matteo Berretini, who will be fighting for a spot in the second singles match. Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli will fill in in doubles.

Argentina Davis Cup Team Facts 

Argentina won their lone Davis Cup title in 2016 and has never managed to reach another semifinal in this tournament.

Argentina will be led by World No. 27 Sebastian Baez, who is the country's top-ranked player. But he is unlikely to play in singles, at least in this tie, with Francisco Cerundolo and Tomas Martin Etcheverry expected to be first and second choices, respectively. 

Team captain Guillermo Coria stuck with the aforementioned duo in singles during the group stage in September and was rewarded with a place in the last eight.

The World No. 1 might need an extra day to recharge from a busy end to his season. Berrettini and Musetti are capable deputies, and the Italians have a superior doubles team. The odds don't lie. Argentina has a mountain to climb. Italy will most likely sweep this tie.
