Then it was the doubles match that was decisive with Viktoria Hruncakova and Tereza Mihalikova overcoming some late nerves to seal victory in a dramatic 10-point tie-break.

The 2002 champions will contest a first quarterfinal in the revamped women's team competition.

Sramkova is player to keep tabs on. She's been in sizzling form of late, losing on three of her last 18 matches. She will likely be the one to drag Slovakia through here.
