Lorenzo Musetti vs Juncheng Shang Preview
Lorenzo Musetti ended the fairytale run of Russian qualifier Alibek Kachmazov in the semifinal in a match that took 18 games to decide. It was Musetti's most clinical performance of the week at the Chengdu Open.
The Italian posted three aces to one double fault and landed 71% of first serves. Musetti won 65% of first-serve points (34/52) and 67% of second-serve points (14/21). He converted three of eight break points and saved all three break points on his own serve. The Paris Olympics bronze medalist is chasing his first ATp title since 2022.
Standing in his path in the final at the Chengdu Open is home favorite Juncheng Shang. The 19-year-old lety defeated Yannick Hanfmann 6-4, 6-4 in the second semifinal.
In the victory, Shang recorded two aces and landed 56% of first serves. He won 77% first-serve points (23/30) and 79% second-serve points (19/24). He converted two of six break points and never faced a single break point on his own serve. Shang is now one of three Chinese male players to headline an ATP final after Yibing Wu (last year in Dallas) and Zhizhen Zhang, who will play Marin Cilic in the Hangzhou final on Tuesday.

Lorenzo Musetti vs Juncheng Shang Prediction
Shang is such an exciting young talent with a robust forehand, and he'll need that shot to work exceptionally well to win on Tuesday. One thing about him, even at 19, he's fearless and will not be overwhelmed by the occasion. Contrary to what first-time finalists experience, Shang has the advantage of playing on home turf, which should calm his nerves. Musetti will certainly need to step up. He's already lost two sets this week, and exploring the games spread here might be the wisest thing to do.
