Emma Raducanu and Peyton Stearns meet in the first round of the 2024 Korea Open in Seoul. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Here's our Emma Raducanu vs Peyton Stearns prediction. This article will also contain an Emma Raducanu vs Peyton Stearns pick.
Emma Raducanu vs Peyton Stearns Preview
It hasn't quite been the resurgent year that Emma Raducanu might have envisaged when she recovered from three surgeries last year. On the bright side, Raducanu has re-entered the Top 100 after falling as low as No. 303 at the start of the new season.
She can play at select Tour-level tournaments without the burden of qualifying which she has been steering clear in the past few months. Raducanu is a modest 18-12 for the season in all competitions, having reached the quarterfinals or better in four WTA tournaments. She also made the second week at Wimbledon in what is her best Grand Slam result since winning the 2021 US Open.
Peyton Stearns has been one of the breakout stars on the WTA Tour this season. She ranks higher than Raducanu in the current standings at No. 48 and has won 23 matches. She bagged her first WTA title on the clay courts of Rabat just before the French Open.
Stearns was last in action at the 2024 US Open where she made the third round but lost Croatia's Donna Vekic. The American is definitely a player to keep an eye on for the rest of 2024 and the start of next year because she's got a fearless attitude on the court and certainly has the game to trouble the WTA's best players.

• Raducanu defeated Stearns in straight sets in their only career meeting at the 2024 Citi Open in Washington.
Emma Raducanu vs Peyton Stearns Prediction
Stearns has thrust her name in the conversation as the most improved WTA player this season and can send out a real statement in the draw if she knocks out the former US Open champion. The young American, like Raducanu, favors hard courts and has played the better tennis this year than the Briton. Raducanu is a -213 favorite to win this match, but because she hasn't played a lot of tennis this year, it would be best to avoid taking her at that price.
