Camila Osorio staged a miraculous comeback in her second-round match to beat former Top 10 player Veronika Kudermetova to reach the last eight in Guadalajara. The Colombian trailed 0-5 in the third set but prevailed 7-6(5), 6-7(2), 7-5 in over three hours. 

In the victory, Osorio compiled eight double faults to her name and landed 60% of first serves. She won 56% of first-serve points (45/80) and 49% of second-serve points (26/53) and converted eight of 18 break points. This is the 22-year-old's first WTA quarterfinal since early April when she won the title in her home country at the Bogota Open.

Kamilla Rakhimova, meanwhile, extended her win streak to seven matches after earning a retirement victory over former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka. Rakhimova led 6-2, 3-0 against the Belraurisan, who was forced to throw in the towel because of a right shoulder injury.

Rakhimova who had won the 125K title in Guadalajara this past week, now moves into her first WTA quarterfinal since late May when she made the last four in Rabat. The Russian will certainly feel good about her chances of winning her first career title on Tour given the number of scalps at the tournament this week.
