Alison Van Uytvanck vs Elina Svitolina Wimbledon Tennis Picks and Predictions 6/30/21

Elina Svitolina and Alison Van Uytvanck meet Wednesday in the first round of the 2021 tennis Wimbledon.

Elina Svitolina lost her second match in Eastbourne, but she enters this tournament with seven sets on grass under her belt this year. Svitolina hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype over these last few months and she’s actually split her last 10 matches overall. Svitolina has to get her serve on point if she’s going to make a dent in this tournament. Svitolina has lost in the first round in three of her seven appearances at Wimbledon. Svitolina hasn’t lost in the first round of a grand slam since 2018 Wimbledon. Svitolina has won three of her last five matches on grass court. 

Alison Van Uytvanck should feel good entering this tournament, as she’s fresh off an ITF title in Nottingham and has won seven of her eight matches on grass this year. Easily the best tennis Van Uytvanck has played in a while, but it will be interesting to see if it continues against increased competition. We can’t ignore a six-match losing streak Van Uytvanck was going through a few months ago. Van Uytvanck has lost in the first round of a grand slam in six of her last 10 trips. Van Uytvanck has made it out of the first round in Wimbledon in three of her six appearances. Van Uytvanck has won seven of her last eight matches on grass court.
