Zverev won 68 percent of his total service points and converted on eight of his 11 break points. Zverev got 71 percent of his first serves in play and saved two of his four break points. Davidovich won 63 percent of his total service points and converted on seven of his 16 break points. Davidovich is having his breakthrough moment at 22 years old, but he’s played 17 sets to get to this point. Fatigue could be an issue for Davidovich, somebody who doesn’t have a lot of success in grand slam play. Davidovich looks to make his first career grand slam semifinal appearance. Davidovich has one career win over a top-10 player. Davidovich has won six of his last seven matches on clay court.
These two have played twice and Zverev won both matches in straight sets. The matches took place in 2020 Cologne and the 2020 US Open. Obviously this will be the first match on clay.
This is new territory for Davidovich, and he’s played a lot of tennis to get to this point. We could see Davidovich struggle physically in the later sets of this match. Either way, this is a match Zverev should make quick work in if we’re being honest.
Give me Zverev in straight sets.
