Dan Evans looks to cause another upset as he meets No.2 seed, Stefanos Tsitsipas, in the semifinals of the 2020 Dubai Open. Who will come out on top?
Dan Evans has put on some incredible performances this week, beating the likes of Fognini, Herbert and Rublev. Evans shouldn't have even gotten past the first-round and because of his ability to always keep fighting, he is now in the semifinals. Evans has a lot of talent, his backhand is solid and he is able to maintain his composure during the big points. However, Evans has played a lot of tennis this week and he will be feeling extremely tired as his matches have been very gruelling.
Stefanos Tsitsipas was able to come back from a set down against an opponent who had a winning record over the Greek. Tsitsipas looked the better player throughout the match and he was able to eventually capitalise on opportunities. Tsitsipas for me is the favourite to win here in Dubai, he has one of the best all round games on the tour and he is going to show us that he is even better than we ever thought. Tsitsipas will be extremely determined to show us his ability in Dubai.
This will be the first meeting between both players, and this is going to be a one way victory for Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas is the much better player, he has more experience in big matches, and he is less tired than Evans. Tsitsipas will come out and dictate play, and make sure he capitalises on opportunities from the start.
Stefanos Tsitsipas to win.
