Jan-Lennard Struff looks to beat Tsitsipas for a 3rd time as he meets the Greek in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Dubai Open. Will Tsitsipas get revenge?
Jan-Lennard Struff was incredibly quick and solid in his second-round victory against Nikoloz Basilashvili, beating the Georgian 6-1/6-0 in only 39 minutes. Struff was very solid on his first serve and was able to dominate the entire match without skipping a beat. Struff has been great in Dubai, also beating the 2018 champion, Roberto Bautista Agut. Struff has a lot of experience and he is able to overpower great players, what lacks is his ability to rally, but when his serve is firing, he is very dangerous.
Stefanos Tsitsipas put in a solid performance for the second time in 4 days against Kazakh, Alexander Bublik, beating him in straight sets. Tsitsipas is just continuously improving as a player and he is absolutely incredible to watch. Tsitsipas is one of the best in the game and he will want to win here in Dubai as he knows he is more than capable of doing so. Tsitsipas' serve has been superb and he has remained extremely composed during tough moments. Tsitsipas will look at his opponent now and be very weary of what can happen against him.
This will be the fourth meeting between both players, with Struff leading the H2H 2-1. Struff beat Tsitsipas in 2 tight 3 set matches, whilst Tsitsipas beat him in straight sets. Tsitsipas has improved drastically since their last meeting and I believe he is way above Struff in talent and agility nowadays. Expect Tsitsipas to come out firing and get revenge.
Stefanos Tsitsipas to win.
