Two of the best one-handed backhands in the history of tennis meet once again, and this time in the Acapulco Open quarterfinals. Will Stan the Man or Grigor Dimitrov book a spot in the semifinals?

Grigor Dimitrov came through an incredibly tough match against Adrian Mannarino in the second-round. Dimitrov looked sloppy in the first set and he did not look like he was going to win the match. However, in the second set Dimitrov turned the engines on and absolutely dominated. Dimitrov saved multiple match points towards the end of the match and was able to run away with the tiebreak. Dimitrov is trying to find his game again and let's hope he does soon, because when he is at his best, the tour benefits greatly.

Stan Wawrinka was incredible against Pedro Martinez, beating the young Spaniard 6-4/6-4. Wawrinka has had a lot of success with his first serve here in Acapulco, winning near to 90% overall in both matches. Where Wawrinka has really struggled has been behind his second serve, as opponents are able to attack it more. Wawrinka knows how to play the big points and he is so strong mentally when needed to be. Wawrinka wants to win here in Acapulco and he is more than able to doing so. Wawrinka is near his best again.

This is going to be the 12th meeting between these two players, with Wawrinka leading the H2H 7-4. Wawrinka has won their last two meetings and I would be shocked if this one did not finish the same way. Dimitrov has not found his form yet and unless Dimitrov is at 100% I do not see him beating a determined Wawrinka.
