Novak Djokovic meets Diego Schwartzman in the fourth-round of the 2020 Australian Open on Sunday January 26 2020.
Novak Djokovic performed incredibly well in his third-round match, only losing 1 point on serve in the first two sets. Djokovic is at home in Melbourne and he wants to fill up his trophy cabinet with one more Australian Open title. Djokovic is probably the best returner the game has ever seen as plays his best on hard courts. Will he be able to win an 8th title in Melbourne?
Diego Schwartzman is also an amazing returner and moves incredibly around the court. Schwartzman has played extremely well here in Melbourne and will have to continue that if he wants to have a chance against Djokovic. Diego has one issue in his game, his serve. The Argentinian is not very tall and therefore does not get quick points off a big serve, but rather Schwartzman has to continuously play rallies to win points.
These two have met 3 times before and Djokovic has won all of their encounters. The last time they met on a hard court was in 2014 at the US Open where Djokovic won in straight sets. The next two matches these two have played have been on clay. This allowed Schwartzman to challenge Djokovic, even reaching a 5th set against him in Roland Garros. However, this match is on a hard court, and Djokovic will eat this match up. Djokovic is virtually unstoppable on hard courts and will show us again why he is one of the best of all time.
Djokovic in straight sets.
