In this article, we will formulate an Argentina and Canada Prediction for this CONMEBOL Copa America 2024 match on Tuesday, July 9th, at MetLife Stadium. To formulate this prediction, we will examine:
-Argentina’s recent form and recent player performance
-Canada’s recent form and recent play performance
-A summary that ties it all together and produces a favorable betting outcome for today’s game between Argentina and Canada.
Canada Betting Preview
No one thought Canada could make it to the semifinals of Copa America, but here they are, and they are only two wins away from winning it all. During the tournament, Canada has scored only two goals total and they have had to lean on the defense for most of their success. In the last game against Venezuela, they were able to win in stoppage time. Jacob Shaffelburg scored in the 13th minute for Canada. Maxime Crepeau made a terrible mistake in goal and let the ball get over his head in the 64th minute. Canada had 43 percent of the possession and seven shots target. The only loss for Canada came in the first game of the tournament and they ended up losing 2-0. Tajon Buchanan is doubtful for this game and he’s a big loss for this team. In this game Canada needs the defense to be better than they were in the first game.
Argentina Betting Preview
Argentina should have a ton of confidence heading into this game, even though they didn’t play that well in the last game. Argentina faced off against Ecuador in the last game and they needed penalty kicks to advance. Argentina opened up the scoring in the 35th minute and it looked like they might breeze through the game. In the 91st minute though the defense made a major lapse and they ended up giving up a goal. Lionel Messi is getting older but he’s still the focal point of the offense. Lautaro Martinez did get the start alongside him, and he’s going to need to have a strong game here. Angel Di Maria was an unused substitute in the last game but it wouldn’t be shocking if he ended up finding his way into the lineup here.
Argentina vs Canada Prediction
Canada’s offense hasn’t been great in this tournament and they are going to struggle to get the offense going here. I do expect their defense is going to be better than they were in the first game. Look for Canada to not give up more than a goal. It wouldn’t shock me if this game ended 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes. There won’t be more than a goal scored here, and the under is going to cash.
