Round 11 of the English Premier League starts on Saturday, November 4, with a tilt between Fulham and Manchester United at Craven Cottage. The Red Devils are looking to respond to back-to-back 3-0 defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle, while the Cottagers are hoping to get level with United in the standings. The gap between the sides is three points; Manchester United are 8th with 15, while Fulham are 14th with 12 points. Here is our Fulham vs Manchester United betting preview and prediction.
Fulham (Form and News)
Fulham's head coach, Marco Silva, marked his contract extension with a commendable 1-1 draw against Brighton. However, he is keen for his team to establish some winning consistency, as every Premier League game they have played this season has produced a different result compared to the previous one. This includes only one win in their last five games (D2, L2), though they are still closer to the top seven than the bottom three in terms of points.
Scoring goals has been the main problem for Fulham in the Premier League. They have only scored nine goals, which is one of the lowest totals in the league. Replacing Aleksandar Mitrović has proven to be a difficult task, but despite that, Fulham have remained difficult for lower-ranked teams to beat at Craven Cottage. Five of their last seven Premier League losses at home came against teams from the traditional 'big six', which notably includes a 2-1 defeat against their upcoming rivals - Manchester United.
Player to watch: Winger Willian was at the forefront of the Cottagers’ three meetings with United last season, registering an assist and receiving a red card.
Marco Silva cannot count on Issa Diop (foot), while Tosin Adarabioyo (injury), Kenny Tete (injury), and Adama Traore (thigh) are questionable to play on Saturday.
Manchester United (Form and News)
If United can deepen Fulham’s woes, it would be a much-needed reprieve for under-fire manager Erik ten Hag, who insisted his side is “on the way up” despite a 3-0 Manchester derby mauling at the hands of their crosstown rivals which made it five losses from their opening ten league fixtures this season (W5).
Turmoil appears to always be only one loss away at Old Trafford, and their 3-0 midweek cup loss against Newcastle marked the first time since October 1962 that United have lost back-to-back home games by three goals or more. That humbling also made it five competitive defeats in their first ten home games this season, the first time they’ve done that since 1930/31, adding to the ever-darkening cloud hanging over the club. They have at least managed to win both of their last two PL away matches, but are without three in succession since December 2020.
Player to watch: Man Utd’s misfiring forward line may draw on Alejandro Garnacho for inspiration after he scored a 93rd-minute winner in last season’s corresponding fixture.
Erik ten Hag will be without Casemiro (ankle), Amad Diallo (knee), Tyrell Malacia (muscle), Lisandro Martinez (foot), Jadon Sancho (suspension), and Luke Shaw (muscle). Raphael Varane is questionable with an illness.

Fulham vs Manchester United H2H Record
A dominant H2H record over Fulham in recent years must inspire hope they can collect a third, as it has been almost 14 years since United lost an H2H against the Cottagers (W14, D3). That includes six wins from six trips to Craven Cottage, so a visit to West London might be just the tonic Ten Hag’s beleaguered squad needs.
Fulham vs Manchester United Odds

Fulham vs Manchester United Betting Pick
United are under a lot of pressure to perform here following a couple of bad results and 3-0 defeats. They have a perfect record against Fulham in the last six meetings at Craven Cottage and recorded two straight road victories in the Premier League. However, the Red Devils are not playing well at the moment, especially in front of the goal.
Fulham lost only three of the previous 11 matches – all three defeats came to the 'big six' clubs, two of which were at home. It seems that the Cottagers can handle United here and at least fight for a draw. Interestingly, Manchester United are one of just two teams (Man City) without a draw in the Premier League this season. It will not be the case for much longer, which is why I am going with a stalemate on Saturday.
Oliver’s Pick Draw (+265)
