Everton are hoping to secure a third straight victory for the first time this season when they welcome Brighton in Round 11 of the Premier League on Saturday, November 4 at Goodison Park. On the other hand, the Seagulls won just one out of the previous seven matches in all competitions, but are still seven points ahead (7th) of the Toffees (15th) in the PL standings. Everton (Form and News)
Everton manager Sean Dyche claimed there wasn’t much wrong with his side’s performances earlier in the season, even though they started the campaign with just one point from their opening five Premier League (PL) matches. Yet, three wins from their last five league outings (L2), plus victories in cup action during that period too, looks to be justifying his early season comments.
Dyche will now surely want to see his side build on this growing league momentum and there’s no better way to do that than securing two successive Premier League wins for the first time in over a year. Coincidentally, on the last occasion they achieved that feat, they beat West Ham in the first of the two matches, a side they also defeated 1-0 last Sunday. Despite that good omen, Brighton’s two wins in their last two league visits to Goodison Park could potentially give the visitors the psychological edge.
Hot streak: Everton’s last seven Premier League home wins have been accompanied by a clean sheet.
Player to watch: Dominic Calvert-Lewin hit the milestone of 50 PL goals in Sunday’s win, and will hope to add to that having netted on three occasions against Brighton previously.
Dyche will be without Dele Alli (muscle) and Andre Gomes (calf), while Seamus Coleman is questionable with a knee injury.
Brighton (Form and News)
In Brighton’s last visit to the blue half of Merseyside back in January, the Seagulls blew Everton away 4-1. But then they did suffer a 5-1 defeat against them on their own patch in May, meaning H2H history could count for very little coming into this contest. Instead, the form of the sides could be key, and Brighton’s is uncharacteristically off. The Seagulls are without a win in four PL matches (D2, L2), their longest winless streak under manager Roberto De Zerbi since his first five league games in charge.
Two defeats on the road in that time against Aston Villa and Manchester City means the visitors are staring down the barrel of three successive league losses for the first time since May 2021. Goals are continuing to flow, as the 1-1 draw with Fulham last time out meant both teams have scored in each of their opening ten Premier League games, so don’t be surprised to see another ding-dong contest here.
Player to watch: Brighton prodigy Evan Ferguson has scored ten PL goals in 2023, the most by a teenager in a single calendar year since Wayne Rooney in 2005 (11). His first in that run came at Goodison Park.
De Zerbi cannot count on Julio Enciso (knee), Tariq Lamptey (injury), Solly March (knee), Jakub Moder (knee), and Danny Welbeck (muscle). Pervis Estupinan is questionable to play on Saturday with a muscle injury.

Everton vs Brighton Betting Pick
Everton are playing their best football this season; they won five of the last seven matches and kept the clean sheet in three. However, keeping the clean sheet will be very hard against Brighton, who scored 2+ goals in each of the previous three visits to Goodison Park.
In fact, this fixture usually produces a bunch of goals. The teams produced 16 goals in the last three H2Hs. In each game, both teams scored and combined for Over 4.5 goals. Even if they fail to combine for five goals this time around, I am pretty sure we will see goals on both ends and at least three on Saturday.
