Over 2.5 (-110), Under 2.5 (-110)
Burnley is welcoming Arsenal to Turf Moor in part of round 25 of the English Premier League.
Burnley has had a few good results as of late and thanks to that, Burnley is now safe outside the relegation zone. With 30 points, 28 scored goals, and 38 conceded goals, Burnley is in 13th place in the EPL standings. Burnley has won their last 2 EPL games, but last weekend they lost in the FA Cup against Norwich and got knocked out of the competition. In their last EPL game against Manchester United away from home, Burnley was the weaker team with only 28% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and low 59% of the correct passes. It was the game where Burnley was forced to defend for the whole match, but somehow, they were able to score 2 goals from 2 shots they had, and in the end, Burnley has unexpectedly won this game 0-2. Chris Wood is playing in great form and has scored 10 goals for Burnley this season, while Ashley Barnes added 6 goals. Ashley Westwood added 5 assists. Ashley Barnes is the only injured player for Burnley which is good news for coach Dyche because he will have more depth for this match. Burnley is a team that is not playing attractive, offensive soccer, and their signature style is a strong defense, but not even defense has been working for Burnley this season. I think that Burnley will stay in the EPL next season as well, simply because there are enough teams in the EPL that are playing worse than Burnley on both ends.
Arsenal is getting better with every game they play, and the progress is visible since the arrival of Mikel Arteta as the new head coach a couple of months ago. Arsenal hasn’t lost any of their last 6 games and they scored at least 1 goal in all of those 6 games. The defense has also shown a lot of improvement and Arsenal was able to keep the clean sheet in 2 of their last 6 games. With 30 points, 32 scored goals, and 34 conceded goals, Arsenal is in 10th place of the EPL standings. Arsenal was playing against Bournemouth in the FA Cup last weekend and has won 1-2 which means Arsenal will advance to the next stage. In the EPL, Arsenal has 3 draws in a row, including their last EPL match against Chelsea away from home. In that match, Arsenal had 42% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 78% of accurate passes. Arsenal got a red card in the 26th minute because of the stupidity from David Luiz and Arsenal was losing at the half-time. In 63rd minute Arsenal was able to tie the game, but in the 84th minute, Chelsea got ahead once again. Just when we thought that Chelsea will be the winner in this match, Arsenal was able to tie the game once again and it ended in a 2-2 draw. Offensively, Arsenal has been solid this season with 32 scored goals, and 14 of those were scored by Aubameyang, while Lacazette added 5 goals. Tierney, Chambers, Kolasinac, Nelson, and Soares are injured and will not be in the lineup. Good news for Arsenal and coach Arteta is that Aubameyang is back in the roster after being suspended for 2 games due to the red card. Arsenal is playing in the Europa League against Olympiacos where they are big favorites, and in my opinion, Arsenal must go all-in in this competition because this is the only way Arsenal will play in the Champions League next season. I like Arsenal, not all of their players, but overall, I think Arsenal is a good team, with a good, young coach who is trying to develop an attractive soccer style similar to the one of Manchester City.
Bournemouth is solid, but Arsenal is on a nice run and they have won 13 of 15 matches against Burnley. Burnley’s home record is 6-0-6, while Arsenal is 2-7-3 away from home. Arsenal is the better team here, with more quality and depth and for that reason is see Arsenal finally getting a win in the EPL.
