Manchester United vs. Wolverhampton 2/1/20 English Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Over 2.5 (+120), Under 2.5 (-150)
Manchester United is welcoming Wolverhampton to Old Trafford in one of the most interesting games of round 25 of the English Premier League.
Manchester United has been hot and cold for the whole season and has won only 5 of their last 10 games while losing 4 games, and one game ended in a draw. Earlier this week United played against Manchester City in the EFL Cup and has won 0-1 but that wasn’t enough for them to advance to the next round because City won the first game 1-3. United has lost their last 2 EPL games without scoring a goal and that is the huge problem for Manchester United because they are still in the race for 4th place, the last spot that leads to Champions League next season. The biggest problem for United and coach Solskjaer is that when Rashford is not playing, Manchester is in a serious slump on the attacking end. United has scored 36 goals so far in the EPL and Rashford has scored 14 of those 36, Martial added 8 goals, while James has 3 goals and 6 assists. Tuanzebe, McTominay, Pogba, and Rashford are injured while Lindelof is ill but will most likely be in the lineup. In their last EPL game against Burnley at home, United was the better team with 72% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 86% of accurate passes, but like I said when Rashford is not playing, Manchester is struggling in the attacking end and the same happened here. Manchester United wasn’t able to score a goal despite some great chances they created, and in the end, United has lost another home game 0-2. The defense is getting better for United, but with all the holes in their midfield, United’s defense and goalkeeper De Gea can’t stop everything coming their way. Manchester United will face Club Brugge in the Europa League in February, and I expect them to go all-in because this might be their only way to end up in the Champions League next season.
Wolverhampton is one of the most exciting teams in the EPL, but they have been in a huge slump as of late. With only 1 win in their last 7 games, Wolverhampton has gotten knocked out of the FA Cup and is in 7th place in the EPL standings with 34 points. In their last 2 EPL games, Wolverhampton has won 1 game and lost 1 game while scoring and conceding 4 goals. In their last EPL match against Liverpool last week, Wolverhampton was solid with 46% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. This might have been enough against any other team in the EPL, but there is no stopping Liverpool, and Wolverhampton has lost this game 1-2. Wolverhampton is also playing in the Europa League and they will face Espanyol in the first round of the knockouts, a team that is not in good shape in LaLiga. Jimenez has scored 11 goals for Wolverhampton, while Traore who is playing in great form has scored 4 goals and added 7 assists. Vinagre is the only injured player for Wolverhampton which is great news for coach Nuno Espirito Santo who is doing a fantastic job with this team. Wolves are an extremely talented team with players like Jimenez, Jota, Traore, and Neves, but to be more competitive, Wolverhampton must sign 2 good, experienced defenders that will bring them some consistency because Wolverhampton has conceded massive 32 goals in 24 games in the EPL so far this season.
When playing at home, United has not lost to Wolverhampton in their last 8 games, while Wolves away record this season is 4-5-3. Both teams are struggling at this point, but I would give a slight advantage to Wolverhampton because they have more offense, however, United is playing at home and will look to bounce back from their last 2 EPL losses.
