Over 2.5 (-175), Under 2.5 (+137)
Inter is welcoming Cagliari to Giuseppe Meazza in part of round 21 of the Italian Serie A.
Inter hasn’t lost any of their last 6 games, but they have been struggling a bit as of late. Inter has conceded at least 1 goal in 5 of their last 6 games, but the good news is that Inter has scored at least a goal in their last 7 games. With 47 points, 41 scored goals, and 17 conceded goals, Inter is in second place in Serie A, 4 points behind Juventus at the top. Overall, Inter is the best team in Serie A this season and despite being behind Juventus at the moment, Inter is still the favorite to win the Serie A title. In their last Serie A game against Lecce, Inter was the better team with 66% of ball possession, massive 9 shots on goal, 14 corner kicks, and high 90% of the correct passes. It was a good game for Inter, but one mistake cost them points and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Lukaku has scored 14 goals for Inter, while Martinez added 10 goals and they are one of the best attacking duets in Europe at the moment. D’Ambrosio and Moses are injured, Brozovic is still questionable but he will probably not be in the lineup. Antonio Candreva is suspended due to the yellow cards. I love Inter and the way they are playing this season and I honestly believe they will finally win the Serie A title, but it will be hard because Serie A is super strong and competitive this season. In the Europa League, Inter is playing against Ludogorets, a team they shouldn’t have trouble beating. Inter is one of the main favorites to win the Europa League, and if they stay in good form, I’m giving them the advantage before everyone else.
Cagliari has been playing well for most of the season, but they have been struggling throughout December and January. Cagliari hasn’t won any of their last 7 games and they conceded at least 2 goals in all 7 of those games. Cagliari is in 7th place in the Serie A standings with 30 points, 35 scored goals, and 31 conceded goals. Overall, Cagliari is a great team with some good players like Giovanni Simeone, Nandez, Nainggolan, and Rog. In their last Serie A match against Brescia, Cagliari was the better team with 56% of ball possession, 9 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 84% of the correct passes. Cagliari was the better team, but their defense wasn’t on the level once again and the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Joao Pedro has been playing in fantastic form this season and has scored 13 goals, while Simeone added 5 goals, and Nainggolan added 4 goals and 4 assists. Pavoletti, Ceppitelli, Mattiello, Pisacane, Rog, and Cerri are all injured which is a big problem for coach Maran is missing a lot of depth in his roster and that is the main reason why Cagliari is not playing well. Cagliari is only 1 point away from the spot for the Europa League qualifications, but because Milan is slowly raising their form, Atalanta is playing great soccer, and Parma is catching up to them, I don’t see Cagliari getting to that spot this season. Good news for Cagliari is that Pjaca should come on loan to Cagliari from Juventus which would certainly be a huge boost on the attacking end for this team.
If Cagliari didn’t have so many injured players in their roster, I would give them a look in this matchup. Inter is the team in better form on both ends and they are playing at home. Cagliari has had some success against Inter in the past, but I don’t see it here. I think Inter gets nice three points here.
