Over 2.5 (-110), Under 2.5 (-110)
Wolverhampton is welcoming Liverpool to Molineux Stadium in part of round 24 of the English Premier League.
Wolverhampton has been solid for most of the season, with a few hiccups along the way. After 2 defeats and a draw in the EPL, Wolverhampton has finally won a game last weekend against Southampton away from home. Wolves had 48% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, and low 64% of the correct passes. The first half was a disaster for Wolverhampton, and they were losing 2-0 at half-time. The second half was a completely different story. Wolverhampton came out determined, confident and ready to turn this game around, and boy did they. Wolverhampton scored 3 unanswered goals until 76th minute and they won 2-3. Before this victory, Wolverhampton was winless for 5 straight games and got knocked out of the FA Cup in the match against Manchester United. Wolves are in 6th place in the standings with 34 points, the same number as Manchester United in 5th place. Offensively, Wolverhampton is doing well with 34 scored goals, but their defense needs some fine-tuning because they conceded 30 goals in 23 games. Raul Jimenez has scored 10 of those 34 goals for Wolverhampton, while Adama Traore who is playing in great form at the moment scored 4 goals and added 6 assists. Willy Boly and Vinagre are injured and will not be playing in this game. In the Europa League, Wolverhampton is playing against Espanyol, a team that is not doing well in LaLiga but is playing great soccer in the Europa League. Overall, Wolverhampton is a good team with great chemistry, but as I said, the defense must improve and that is something coach Nuno Espirito Santo must work on.
I don’t think there is a team in Europe that can beat Liverpool in their current form. Liverpool is playing fantastic soccer on both ends and is beating teams left and right. With 8 wins in a row, 7 games without conceding a goal, Liverpool looks unstoppable. Liverpool is at the top of the EPL with 64 points, 52 scored goals, 14 conceded goals, and still undefeated. In their latest EPL match against Manchester United last weekend, Liverpool was the better team with 53% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 11 corner kicks, and 79% of accurate passes. Liverpool was in total control for the whole match and has won this game 2-0. Salah and Mane are probably the best attacking duo in soccer right now and both of them have scored 11 goals for Liverpool, while Firmino added 7 goals. Alexender-Arnold who is playing right-back has 9 assists, while Robertson who is playing left-back has 6 assists. Clyne, Keita, and Milner are injured, while Lovren is probable, and Fabinho is ready to play which is fantastic news for coach Klopp. I’m getting more and more convinced with every game Liverpool is playing that they can win the title and stay undefeated in the EPL because they have the quality, depth, and the chemistry like no other team has. As far as the Champions League goes, Liverpool is playing against Atletico Madrid in the first round of knockouts, a team they can certainly beat, but I have a feeling this is going to be a tough matchup. I absolutely love this Liverpool team, I love Klopp’s charisma, I love the way Liverpool is playing, and I think they will finally win the EPL title because Manchester City is huge 13 points behind them.
Wolverhampton’s home record this season is 4-5-2, while Liverpool is 9-1-0 away from home. Liverpool has kept the clean sheet in their last 7 games, while Wolverhampton has scored at least 1 goal in 6 of their last 7 games. I think Liverpool will win this game, but I also think that Wolves will continue their good goalscoring form.
