Tottenham vs. Norwich City 1/22/20 English Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Over 2.5 (-188), Under 2.5 (+150)
Tottenham is welcoming Norwich City to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in part of round 24 of the English Premier League.
Oh, man is Tottenham in a slump. Tottenham has won only 1 of their last 6 games and that was in the FA Cup against Middlesbrough. Tottenham was solid in that attacking part at the beginning of the season, but for the last month or so Tottenham was extremely inefficient and hasn’t scored a lot of goals. And the worst thing is that Tottenham’s star striker Harry Kane is injured and will not be back before mid-April. Tottenham is in 8th place in the EPL standings with 31 points, 36 scored goals, and 31 conceded goals. As much as you think that Tottenham’s offense suck, their defense is twice the worse. In their last EPL match against Watford, Tottenham had 59% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. Watford is playing good as of late, but Tottenham should have won this match, instead, it ended in a 0-0 draw thanks to Watford missing a penalty shot in the second half. A month from now Tottenham will face Leipzig in the Champions League and wouldn’t want to be in their skin because Leipzig is playing fantastic soccer and is at the top of Bundesliga. Kane is Tottenham’s leading goal scorer with 11 goals, followed by Alli with 6. Since Kane has been injured there hasn’t been a single player that is capable of stepping up and filling that void in Tottenham’s attack. Lloris, Davies, Sissoko, and Ndombele are also injured alongside Kane. Mourinho has a lot of work to do with this team before the Champions League is back, but Tottenham is missing the depth and Tottenham’s management must sign some players that can improve this team as soon as possible.
Norwich is in the last place in the EPL standings with 17 points, 3 points away from the safe zone, and I have a feeling they will stay in the EPL when the season is done. Norwich has lost only 1 of their last 5 games and they are playing some solid soccer at the moment. In their last EPL match against Bournemouth at home, Norwich was the better team with 66% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, and 84% of the correct passes. Norwich has scored a goal from the penalty shot in the first half and the result hasn’t changed until the end of the game. This was the first win at home for Norwich in the last 4 months, and boy was it sweet. In their last 5 games, Norwich has scored 9 goals, while conceding also 9 goals. Offensively, Norwich is solid with 23 goals in 23 games, but their defense has been an absolute disaster with 45 conceded goals, the most in the EPL. Pukki was the nicest surprise at the beginning of the season when he scored 6 goals in 6 games and is Norwich’s top goalscorer with 10 goals, while Cantwell added 6 goals. Tim Klose is the only injured player for Norwich, while Godfrey is suspended because of the red card. Norwich isn’t a bad team, and they are not any worse than Bournemouth or Aston Villa who are also in the relegation zone. As I said, I believe that Norwich will pull through and will stay in the EPL, but it will be hard and coach Farke must fix his defense as soon as possible or he will get fired.
Tottenham hasn’t lost any of their last 3 home games against Norwich. Tottenham is 6-2-3 at home this season, while Norwich is 1-2-8 away from home. I think that Tottenham will finally get a win at home, but I see Norwich scoring at least a goal because Tottenham’s defense is in bad shape.
