Manchester City is welcoming Crystal Palace to Etihad Stadium in round 23 of the English Premier League.

Manchester City looks unstoppable once again and is playing really well, especially on the attacking end. Manchester City has won their last 5 games and has scored 17 goals during that stretch. The defense is also improving in Manchester City and they conceded only 4 goals in their last 5 games. In their last EPL game against Aston Villa last weekend, Manchester City was fantastic with 71% of ball possession, 4 corner kicks, high 92% of the correct passes and massive 12 shots on goal. It was a great day for Manchester City and Sergio Aguero who scored a hat-trick and added 2 assists. City has won this game 1-6. With the three points from this game and thanks to Leicester losing their games, Manchester City is now back in second place with 47 points, massive 62% of scored goals, and 25 conceded goals. The difference between City in the second place and Liverpool at the top of the EPL is huge 14 points, and with the way Liverpool is playing this season, I don’t see them dropping this advantage, and for that reason, I think that Manchester City should focus on the Champions League where they will face Real Madrid is the first round of the knockouts. Aguero has scored 13 goals for Manchester City so far this season, while sterling added 11 goals, and Jesus scored 9 times. Kevin De Bruyne can’t seem to stop assisting and now has 15 assists. Sane and Laporte are still injured and will not be in the lineup. The defense was the thorn in the heel for Manchester City for most of this season and that is the main reason why Manchester City is so far behind Liverpool, but their defense is improving just in time for the Champions League.

Crystal Palace is doing well this season, but not well enough to get to the spot that would take them to the Europa League. The biggest problem for Crystal Palace is their lack of offense where they scored only 20 goals in 22 games. Defensively, Crystal Palace is solid and has conceded only 24 conceded goals. Crystal Palace hasn’t won any of their last 4 games and has conceded at least 1 goal in all 4 of those games. In their latest EPL match against Arsenal last weekend, Crystal Palace had 42% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, and low 71% of the correct passes. It wasn’t a good game for Crystal Palace, but it was worse for Arsenal. Thanks to Arsenal getting a red card in the second half, Crystal Palace was able to hold onto the 1-1 result until the end of the game. Ayew is Palace’s top goalscorer with 6 goals, while Zaha added only 3 goals. Zaha is the one player that a lot of teams are interested in buying, and if the right offer comes to Crystal Palace, Zaha will most likely be sold until the end of this transfer window. Ward, Schlupp, Townsend, Benteke, Milivojevic, and Sakho are all injured while Van Aanholt is still questionable. All these injured players are the player that would be in the starting lineup if healthy and I think this is a huge problem for Crystal Palace because they are facing one of the best attacking teams in the world in this match. I think that coach Roy Hodgson will need a mother of all miracles to get a positive result in this game.

The last 5 games played between Manchester City and Crystal Palace played in Manchester have produced 24 goals. Manchester City has lost its last home game against Crystal Palace, but there is no way in hell that is happening again. Manchester City is in great form, while Crystal Palace is missing a lot of players which will make them only struggle more on both ends of the field.
