Tre Fiori and Linfield will face off in a Champions League Qualifier on Saturday. This is a semifinals game in the preliminary round of next year’s tournament.
Linfield F.C have had a long layoff heading into this game. Linfield’s last game came all the way back in March when the Irish Premiership’s season was shut down. There was never an agreement on how the season could resume, so Linfield ended up taking the crown by default. Linfield F.C has played some friendlies heading into this game. Since July, Linfield has played four games, coming away with three wins and one draw. The last game for Linfield was against Dundalk, a game they won 1-0. Two games ago against Portadown there has to be a little concern as they gave up three goals, and the defense is going to need to be better in this game.
Tre Fiori is a semi-professional club that has the same type of story as Linfield F.C. as their season was shutdown early and there was never an agreement on how the season could continue. Tre Fiori doesn’t have a whole lot of experience in European competitions. Last season they were beaten 9-1 by KI Klaksvik in the preliminary round in the Europa League. For Tre Fiori they have been training hard for this competition but they haven’t had any friendlies, only intrasquad games, and that is something that might be a bit of a concern to this team.
With so little known about either of these teams and the long layoff for both squads, this is a game that should be bet lightly. Linfield has played more meaningful games as of late, and they have to have a little more confidence in this game. It’s a lean at best but back the squad from Northern Ireland to come away with a victory.
