Real Madrid and Manchester City face off in the second leg of their round of 16 matchup on Friday in the Champions League. Manchester City currently leads 2-1 on aggregate. Real Madrid is going to have their hands full in this game.
Manchester City knows they will be playing in the Champions League next year but right now their focus is to win the title again this season. Manchester City didn’t win the Premier League, and anything short of winning this title would be disappointing. Manchester City comes into this game playing some really good soccer. Manchester City has won two games in a row and during those two games they have outscored their opponent 9-0. This is a high scoring team but it will be interesting to see how they attack this game as they try to ust advance. With a lead already on aggregate will they try to get a goal early and then try to lock down on defense, or will this be a defensive battle the entire game. The one thing that Manchester City can’t expect is that they already have their spot in the next round locked up.
On the other side of this matchup is Real Madrid who won another la Liga title after some very strong play after the pandemic shutdown. As much as success as they have they did play to a 2-2 draw in their last game , but most of their starters were out during that game. One of the big issues for Real Madrid heading into this game is they will be without Sergio Ramos and that is a big loss for the squad, especially when they are trying to come back from behind. Karim Benzema is clearly the best player on Real Madrid and they need him to have a big game.
Real Madrid is going to push players forward in this one, and that is going to open up scoring chances for both teams. Who is going to win this game is really a toss-up, but this game is going to go over the posted total. It's a lean to Real Madrid on the money line.
