Bologna plays host to Torino in Serie A soccer action from the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Sunday afternoon.
Bologna comes into this match in 12th place on 46 points with a record of 12 wins, 10 draws and 15 losses following a 4-0 loss to Fiorentina in their last match. In the loss to Fiorentina, the first half saw no scoring and only one yellow card that was handed out to Fiorentina. The second half was where the flood gates opened, as Bologna fell behind in the 48th and went 2-0 down in the 54th. Bologna would have 53% possession in the second half, but were outshot 6-1 in terms of shots on goal and Fiorentina would also score twice more as Bologna were buried and shut out at full time. Musa Barrow leads Bologna in scoring with 9 goals while Riccardo Orsolini has 8 goals and a team-high 6 assists. Lukasz Skorupski is Bologna’s top goalkeeper, conceding 1.56 goals per 90 minutes this season with two clean sheets in 36 league appearances.
Torino on the other hand, sit in 16th place on 39 points with a record of 11 wins, 6 draws and 20 losses following a 3-2 loss to Roma last time out. In the loss to Roma, Alejandro Berenguer gave Torino the lead in the 14th minute, but the lead lasted all of two minutes before Roma tied things up at one and Roma would go 2-1 ahead just seven minutes after that. The lead held into the second half where Roma took a 3-1 lead just after the hour mark from the penalty spot, Wilfried Singo pulled a goal back for Torino just four minutes later, but the equalizer would never come as Roma shut things down from that point on. Andrea Belotti leads Torino in scoring with 16 goals while Simone Verdi has a team-high 5 assists this season. Salvatore Sirigu is Torino’s top goalkeeper, conceding 1.72 goals per 90 minutes with 7 clean sheets in 36 league appearances this season.
This is a hard one to call as neither team has anything to play for here. With that said, Torino hasn’t been good on the road since the restart, and have gone 0-1-8 in their last 9 road games. I just think that Bologna at home is a better play than Torino on the road so I’ll back Bologna to win on the final day of the year.
