Manchester City plays host to Norwich City in EPL soccer action from the Etihad Stadium on Sunday morning.
Manchester City comes into this match in 2nd place on 78 points with a record of 25 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses following a 4-0 win over Watford last time out. In the win over Watford, Raheem Sterling would give City the lead in the 31st minute before doubling his goal tally in the 40th minute to complete the brace after putting in his own rebound from a missed penalty. Phil Foden pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 63rd and Aymeric Laporte added a 4th just three minutes later. In the end, Watford wouldn’t provide any resistance as City marched on to yet another win. Sterling leads City in scoring with 19 goals while Sergio Aguero has 16 goals and Gabriel Jesus has 13 goals this year. Kevin De Bruyne has 11 goals and a team-high 19 assists while Riyad Mahrez has 10 goals for the Citizens this season. Ederson is Man City’s top goalkeeper, conceding 0.72 goals per 90 minutes with 15 clean sheets in 34 league appearances this season.
Norwich City on the other hand, sit in last place in 20th preparing for the drop down to the lower division. The Canaries sit on 21 points with a record of 5 wins, 6 draws and 26 losses following a 2-0 loss to Burnley last time out. In the loss to Burnley, Norwich went down to ten men in the 25th when Emiliano Buendia was shown a straight red card, and then down to nine men just before the half when Josip Drmic was shown a straight red himself. Burnley would go ahead in the fifth minute of first half stoppage time and would double their lead in the 80th after Ben Godfrey put it in his own net. In the end, it was yet another shutout loss to add on to a woeful season for Norwich City. Teemu Pukki leads Norwich in scoring with 11 goals this season while Todd Cantwell has 6 goals and the aforementioned Buendia has a team-high 7 assists this season. Tim Krul is Norwich City’s top goalkeeper, conceding 1.77 goals per 90 minutes with 5 clean sheets in 35 league appearances this season.
Oh boy, this one has ugly written all over it and I don’t think you could’ve put Norwich in a worse spot to finish the year. The Canaries are getting relegated, have lost nine straight games, have been outscored 19-1 over that span and now have to take on a Manchester City side that’s the highest scoring in the league, scored 4+ in five of eight games since the restart and have won six games via shutout since the restart. I think this is a beatdown from the word go, and as such I’m going to side with City to win to nil as my main bet for the match. I think you could also find value in the correct score of 4-0 or 5-0 at sizeable plus odds or even the -3.5 handicap for slight plus money as well.
