Brescia plays host to Parma in Serie A soccer action from the Stadio Mario Rigamonti on Saturday morning.
Brescia comes into this match in 19th place on 24 points with a record of 6 wins, 6 draws and 23 losses following a 3-1 loss to Lecce last time out. In the loss to Lecce, Brescia fell behind in the 22nd minute of play before Lecce doubled their advantage ten minutes later. The lead held into the half before Brescia cut into the deficit in the 63rd minute thanks to Daniele Dessena. Lecce would restore the two-goal lead seven minutes later, and Lecce would ride that lead to the finish line, confirming relegation for Brescia at full time. Alfredo Donnarumma leads Brescia in scoring with 7 goals while Ernesto Torregrossa isn’t far off with 6 goals while Sandro Tonali has a team-high 7 assists this season. Jesse Joronen is Brescia’s #1 goalkeeper, conceding 1.86 goals per 90 minutes with 5 clean sheets in 29 league appearances this season.
Parma on the other hand, occupy the 10th position in the Serie A table on 43 points, tied with Fiorentina and Bologna with a record of 12 wins, 7 draws and 16 losses following a 2-1 win over Napoli last time out. In the win over Napoli, Gianluca Caprari opened the scoring for Parma from the penalty spot in the third minute of first-half stoppage time, but Napoli would tie the game at one in the 54th minute. The tie would hold and almost looked like it would hold for our final score, but Dejan Kulusevski would steal the win for Parma late in the second half from the penalty spot in the 87th minute. Andreas Cornelius leads Parma in scoring with 11 goals on the year while Kulusevski has 8 goals and a team-high 7 assists on the year.
I’m not sure if I feel comfortable backing either of these teams as Brescia’s on their way back down to Serie B and Parma are just playing for pride here. With that said, both teams have been terrible defensively and I do think that both teams get theirs offensively here, so I’ll back both teams to score and over 2.5 goals as my bet for this match.
