Watford faces Manchester City on Tuesday, July 21st at Vicarage Road Stadium for an English Premier League match.
Watford finds themselves in trouble after a 3-1 loss to West Ham United over the weekend. Watford is still safe from relegation (as of now), but a lot can change with two matches to go for each club. Watford is in 17th place in the Premier League, three points ahead of Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth. Watford did not show up in their last match, as West Ham United scored three quick first-half goals to blow open the scoring early. Watford started hot in the second half and scored in the 49th minute, but two more goals for an equalizer did not follow and West Ham United earned an imperative home victory. Watford is very much in jeopardy, considering now they have to play a Manchester City team that has completely owned them in recent history (and it's not even close).
Manchester City just took on Arsenal in the English FA Cup semifinals. Although Manchester City owned a 71% possession advantage and four times as many total shots, the club still lost 2-0 to Arsenal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the king of the counter in this one, as both of his goals came on the Arsenal counter-attack in gorgeous fashion. Aubameyang is excellent at finishing on the offensive rush, and he did just that twice in this match. Manchester City has already locked up second place in the Premier League standings, and even though that may be a bit of a disappointment to the former champs, City still had a great season nonetheless.
The last time Watford and Manchester City met was on September 21st of 2019, in which Manchester City totally dominated in an 8-0 home victory.
There is absolutely no way I can even think about taking Watford after their last performance against Manchester City. Watford will be fighting hard and Manchester City will probably be sitting some guys, but that still does not matter to me. I am going to take Manchester City against the spread in this one, as I think City will take care of business in this one.
