Manchester City (WWLWW) and AFC Bournemouth (WDLLL) will meet on Wednesday, July 15th for an English Premier League match. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM EST start time and it will be played at Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City is free! CAS has officially lifted Manchester City's ban from UEFA competition, which is great news for any Manchester City fan, but not so much for its competition. This team has arguably been the strongest in the Premier League since the break ended, even more so than the Liverpool team that they beat 4-0. Manchester City is coming off a 5-0 victory over Brighton, as 5-0 wins and Manchester City seem to go hand in hand. That is Manchester City's third 5-0 victory since the break has ended (Burnley, Newcastle United, Brighton). Manchester City is currently in second place in the Premier League standings, 12 points ahead of Chelsea in third.
Bournemouth is coming off its best win of the season, as the club (who is fighting to avoid relegation), was able to find a comeback victory over Leicester City. Bournemouth was completely outplayed in the first half of the game, as Leicester City had the possession and opportunities from minute 1 to minute 45+. Leicester City took a 1-0 lead, thanks to Jamie Vardy, to halftime. Bournemouth was able to turn it on in the second half, as Junior Stanislas scored from the spot for Bournemouth to equalize. Bournemouth was then able to score a minute later in the 67th minute, as Dominic Solanke gave Bournemouth the lead. After the goal, Caglar Soyuncu committed a vicious and dirty play to one of the Bournemouth forwards, as Soyuncu kicked the Bournemouth player in the back of the legs. Caglar Soyuncu was sent off with a red card, and with that went Leicester City's chances in the match. Bournemouth would add two more goals for good measure to complete a 4-1 route of the Premier League's fourth-place team.
The last time Manchester City and Bournemouth met was on August 25th of 2019, as Manchester City was victorious in that match via a 3-1 score on the road.
I like the over in this game, as I expect Manchester City to score at least three goals, while Bournemouth should be able to find at least one as well. I would not be surprised with a 4-1, 4-2 result at all.
