Burnley (DWDWW) and Wolverhampton (WLLWW) will meet on Wednesday, July 15th for an English Premier League match. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM EST start time and it will be played at Turf Moor.
Burnley was able to pull off a draw against Liverpool on the road in its last match. The final score of the match was 1-1, as Burnley's goaltender Nick Pope put together yet another stellar performance for his club. Pope stopped eight of nine shots that Liverpool threw his way, as he was phenomenal the entire match. Pope was so competitive in the match that he was even given a yellow card. Burnley's Jay Rodriguez was the lone goal scorer for his team, as he scored in the 69th minute. That equalizing goal would be enough for Burnley to walk away with the impressive draw. Burnley is currently in 10th place in the Premier League standings.
Wolverhampton took care of business against Everton at home, as Wolves was victorious by a 3-0 score. Wolverhampton was able to push its UCL hopes in the right direction by adding a crucial three points to its record. Raul Jimenez was given a shot from the spot in the 45+2 in which he cashed in on, giving Wolverhampton a 1-0 lead into the half. Right as the second half started, Leander Dendoncker scored for Wolverhampton, extending the lead to 2-0. Diogo Jota added a goal of his own in the 74th minute for Wolves, as he broke the game open. Wolverhampton is now three points behind Manchester United for fifth place in the Premier League table. This will be an important, yet difficult match for Wolves against a Burnley squad that has been in very solid form since the break has ended (minus that ugly 5-0 loss to Manchester City).
The last time Burnley and Wolverhampton met was on August 25th of 2019. That match resulted in a 1-1 draw in front of the Wolverhampton supporters.
I like Burnley at home in this match, as even though Wolverhampton is the stronger squad, Burnley has played a bit better than Wolves as of late. I think Burnley +0.5 is too valuable to pass up.
