Arsenal (LDWWW) and Liverpool (DWWLW) will meet on Wednesday, July 15th for an English Premier League match. The match is scheduled for a 3:15 PM EST start time and it will be played at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal's slim chances of a UEFA Champions League appearance were ended on Sunday, as Arsenal lost to Tottenham Hotspur 2-1. Arsenal was not going to make the UCL anyway, but now that the team is officially eliminated from contention, it makes you wonder when they will be back. Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette scored the first goal of the game against Tottenham in the 16th minute, but Tottenham's Son Heung-Min scored three minutes later to negate Arsenal's lead. In the 81st minute on a Tottenham corner, Toby Alderweireld scored a beautiful header to give Tottenham the lead, the win, and the three points that come with it. Arsenal will be home in this match against Liverpool, but unfortunately, just like every other EPL game since the break, there will be no fans in attendance.
Liverpool was semi-stunned in its last match at home against Burnley. Burnley is no team to mess with in the English Premier League, but Liverpool had been so dominant this year most people expected a home victory. Burnley's Nick Pope was outstanding in the match, as he stopped eight of the nine shots that Liverpool fired on target. In the late stages, Mo Salah was gifted an incredible opportunity to score in the box, but he was not able to get enough on his shot to put it past Pope. The 1-1 draw has to be a disappointment for Liverpool, but what better way to bounce-back then by taking down Arsenal at Emirates.
The last time Arsenal and Liverpool in English Premier League action was on August 24th of 2019. That match resulted in a 3-1 victory for Liverpool at Anfield.
Liverpool has been fantastic all season long, but as of late, the same Liverpool dominance has not been there. Liverpool is still such a great squad, but I am going to Arsenal at home in this match. Arsenal would love to salvage its season with an upset of the champions, and I think at +285, it is worth a shot. Arsenal has not played poorly since the break, and I think the team can do enough at Emirates to get the win.
