Atalanta play host to Brescia in Serie A soccer action from the Stadio Atleti Azzurri D’Italia on Tuesday afternoon.
Atalanta come into this one on 67 points with a record of 20 wins, 7 draws and 5 losses after a 2-2 draw with Juventus in their last match. I the draw with Juventus, Duvan Zapata gave Atalanta the lead in the 16th minute, and the lead held into the second half, where Juventus would tie the game at one ten minutes in. Ruslan Malinovsky re-took the lead for Atalanta in the 81st but La Dea wouldn’t be able to hold on as Juventus tied the game at two from the penalty spot in the 90th minute. Neither side would be able to find a last gasp winner as the points were split at full time. Luis Muriel leads Atalanta in scoring with 17 goals while Zapata and Josip Ilicic each have 15 goals apiece. Alejandro Gomez has 6 goals and a team-high 16 assists this season. Pierluigi Gollini leads Atalanta as the top goalkeeper, conceding 1.18 goals per 90 minutes with 7 clean sheets in 28 league appearances this season.
Brescia on the other hand, come into this match in 19th place on 21 points with a record of 5 wins, 6 draws and 21 losses after a 3-0 loss to Roma last time out. In the loss to Roma, the first half only saw one booking in the 9th minute that went Brescia’s way, but Roma would take the lead three minutes into the second half. Roma would double the lead just past the hour mark and add a 3rd goal to put the game out of Brescia’s reach in the 74th minute. Alfredo Donnarumma leads Brescia in scoring with 7 goals while Sandro Tonali has a team-high 6 assists this season. Jesse Joronen is Brescia’s #1 goalkeeper, conceding 1.85 goals per 90 minutes with 5 clean sheets in 27 league appearances this season.
I’m having a hard time with the full time total as a lot of it hinges on whether or not Brescia decides to contribute as scoring hasn’t been an issue for Atalanta this season. With that said, I do think La Dea get on the board in the first half and wouldn’t be surprised if they snuck a couple in by halftime, so I’ll lean towards the first half over 1.5 goals as my free pick for this game, but I have a much stronger play on the side that you can get here.
