Parma and Bologna duke it out in Serie A soccer action from the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Sunday afternoon.
Parma come into this match in 12th place on 39 points with a record of 11 wins, 6 draws and 14 losses following a 4th straight defeat in the form of a 2-1 loss to Roma last time out. In the loss to Roma, Juraj Kucka gave Parma the lead after just nine minutes of play from the penalty spot. Roma would tie the game just two minutes before halftime and follow that up by taking a 2-1 lead in the 57th minute. Parma would try to get back into the game in the second half with the two sides splitting possession 50/50, but Parma would have just one shot on goal and two shot attempts, leaving the 2-1 score to hold and give Roma the win and the points at full time. Andreas Cornelius leads Parma in scoring with 11 goals while Dejan Kulusevski has 7 goals and a team-high 7 assists this season.
Bologna on the other hand, enter this game looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss to Sassuolo last time out. The loss kept Bologna in 10th place on 41 points with a record of 11 wins, 8 draws and 12 losses. In the defeat against Sassuolo, Bologna fell behind four minutes before halftime and Sassuolo would double that lead in the 57th minute. Musa Barrow would pull a goal back in the first minute of stoppage time, but it was too little too late as Sassuolo held on for the win and sent Bologna back empty-handed. Riccardo Orsolini leads Bologna in scoring with 8 goals while Barrow has 7 goals with Orsolini adding a team-high 4 assists as well. Lukasz Skorupski leads Bologna in goal, conceding 1.47 goals per 9 minutes with 2 clean sheets in 30 league appearances this season.
The draw is worth a look based on history as four of the last five head-to-head have been draws including two of the last three since the two sides reacquainted in Serie A in 2018-19. However, Parma’s lost four straight and dropped points in five of six games since the restart and while Bologna is far from a world beater, they’ve had more luck since the restart and have also won 4 of their last 5 games away from home. I’ll take a stab at Bologna on the ML and since three of both teams’ last four games have ended 2-1, I’ll put some side action on the correct score of 2-1 Bologna for sizeable plus money as well.
Chris’s Pick Bologna ML +160 / 2-1 Bologna Correct Score +800
