Espanyol and Eibar square off in La Liga soccer action from the RCDE Stadium on Sunday morning.
Espanyol come into this match in last place on 24 points with a record of 5 wins, 9 draws and 21 losses following a 1-0 loss to Barcelona in their last match. In the loss to Barcelona, the first half only saw a pair of yellow cards issued in Espanyol’s direction. Barcelona would be reduced to ten men just five minutes after the half, but Espanyol would follow suit with a sending off of their own just three minutes later. Barca would take the lead in the 56th, while Espanyol had just 26% possession in the second half and be left with little opportunity to find an equalizer. In the end, Espanyol would concede defeat at full time and be left empty-handed once again. David Lopez, Wu Lei and Raul de Tomas each have 4 goals on the year while Diego Lopez is Espanyol’s top goalkeeper, conceding 1.5 goals per 90 minutes with 4 clean sheets in 34 league appearances this season.
Eibar on the other hand, come into this match on 36 points with a record of 9 wins, 9 draws and 17 losses following a scoreless draw with Leganes in their last match. In the draw with Leganes, the first half only saw one yellow card directed at Leganes, and the second half would see Eibar have 64% possession, but neither side would have a shot on goal in the half, leaving the match to finish scoreless at the full time whistle. Fabian Orellana leads Eibar in scoring with 8 goals along with a team-high 7 assists while Charles has 6 goals and Kike Garcia has 5 goals on the year. Marko Dmitrovic leads Eibar in goal, conceding 1.44 goals per 90 minutes with 9 clean sheets in 34 league appearances this season.
I’ve gone back and forth on this game as both sides could use the win, but Espanyol’s been so bad since the restart and Eibar has not been good away from home the whole year. In the end I just don’t see Eibar having enough to really pull away from Espanyol, so I’ll side with the draw as my main bet for the match as well as the correct score of 1-1 for decent sized plus odds.
Chris’s Pick Draw +225 / 1-1 Correct Score +525
