Juventus play host to Atalanta in Serie A soccer action from the Allianz Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Juventus enter this match leading the way in the Serie A table with 75 points in 1st place with a record of 24 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses following a 4-2 loss to AC Milan in their last match. In the loss to Milan, the only action in the first half was a pair of yellow cards that were brandished Milan’s way. Adrien Rabiot would put Juventus in front in the 47th minute and Cristiano Ronaldo doubled Juventus’ lead just six minutes later. AC Milan would pull a goal back from the penalty spot in the 62nd, and Milan would tie the game and take the lead a minute apart with goals in the 66th and 67th minutes. Juventus would try to claw back, but Milan would put the result out of reach in the 80th minute with a 4th goal. Cristiano Ronaldo leads Juventus in scoring with 26 goals on the year while Paulo Dybala has 11 goals with each having 5 assists. Juan Cuadrado has 5 assists while Rodrigo Bentancur has a team-high 6 assists on the year.
Atalanta on the other hand, enter this game in 3rd place on 66 points after picking up a 9th straight league win in the form of a 2-0 win over Sampdoria in their last match. The win over Samp put Atalanta on 20 wins, 6 draws and 5 losses for the season. In the win over Sampdoria, the first half no scoring with both sides receiving a yellow card. The 0-0 score held up until the 75th minute when Rafael Toloi put Atalanta in front and Luis Muriel would double that lead ten minutes later. The pair of markers would hold up as Atalanta racked up yet another victory. Muriel leads Atalanta in scoring with 17 goals this season while Josip Ilicic has 15 goals and Duvan Zapata has 14 goals. Alejandro Gomez has a team-high 15 assists this season for Atalanta. Pierluigi Gollini leads Atalanta in goal, conceding 1.19 goals per 90 minutes with 7 clean sheets in 27 league appearances this season.
I’m really tempted to back Atalanta on the ML here as it’s not often that you get almost triple your money with a team that’s won nine straight games. However, Juventus has yet to lose at home this season and I think Juve will want to make amends for the loss to Milan last time out. I do think Atalanta gets a result from this match though, so I’ll side with the draw as my main bet for the match. I’ll also put some side action on a draw with both teams to score to increase the plus money a bit.
Chris’s Pick Draw +265 / Draw & Both Teams to Score +330
