Real Sociedad host Granada in La Liga soccer action from the Reale Seguros Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Real Sociedad enter this match in 7th place on 51 points with a record of 15 wins, 6 draws and 13 losses after a 1-1 tie with Levante last time out. In the tie with Levante, Alexander Isak put Sociedad in front 12 minutes into the game, but the lead would hold up for all of four minutes before Levante tied the game at one goal apiece. Both sides would have chances throughout, but Sociedad would be held to just 43% possession in the second half and the score would remain deadlocked at the full time whistle. Willian Jose leads Real Sociedad in scoring with 10 goals on the year while Isak and Mikel Oyarzabal each have 9 goals with Oyarzabal adding a team-high 10 assists this season.
Granada on the other side, come into this one in 10th place on 47 points with a record of 13 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses following a 2-2 tie with Valencia in their last game. In the draw with Valencia, the game was tied at zero at the half with Granada receiving the only booking of the match up to that point. Carlos Fernandez would put Granada in front from the penalty spot in the 61st, but Valencia would tie the game two minutes later and take a 2-1 lead five minutes after that. Granada would end up salvaging a point in the 86th minute as the two sides ended up sharing the spoils at full time here as well. Fernandez leads Granada in scoring with 8 goals on the year while Victor Diaz has a team-high 5 assists this season. Rui Tiago is Granada’s top goalkeeper, conceding 1.13 goals per 90 minutes with 11 clean sheets in 31 league appearances this season.
I’ve gone back and forth on this game as Sociedad has struggled but they’ve picked up their play lately, but I think you can also say the same for Granada coming into this one. The difference for me is that Real Sociedad’s won the last five meetings head-to-head, so my main bet for this match will be Real Sociedad on the ML, but to get the price down you could also package the win with under 3.5 goals as none of those five wins have seen more than three goals scored at full time.
Chris’s Pick Real Sociedad ML -140 / Real Sociedad to Win & Under 3.5 Goals +140
