Southampton (WLWLL) and Manchester City (WWLWW) will meet on Sunday, July 5th for an English Premier League match. The match is scheduled for a 2:00 PM EST start time and it will be played at St. Mary's Stadium.
Southampton is coming off a 3-1 victory over Watford in its last match. Southampton's Danny Ings produced a great performance, scoring two of the three goals for his club on June 28th. Southampton is currently in 14th place in the English Premier League standings. Southampton has taken care of business when playing the weaker teams in the Premier League, but they have not that next step when it comes to competing with the league's best. Southampton will be put to the test in this match, as Manchester City is rolling.
Manchester City honored Liverpool's championship before the match, but after that moment, they were out for blood. Manchester City destroyed Liverpool by the final score of 4-0, which has to be one of the worst losses for Liverpool in recent history. Manchester City was firing on all cylinders in this match, as three goals in the first half ended the match before Liverpool even had the chance to breathe. Manchester City even scored a late goal to make it 5-0, but VAR was gracious to Liverpool and the goal was disallowed. Although Manchester City will not be the champions of the Premier League, the team's prideful win on Thursday will be one of the most memorable matches throughout the entire season.
The last time Southampton and Manchester City met was on November 2nd of 2019. Manchester City won that match in front of its home supporters by the final score of 2-1.
I like Manchester City to roll yet again in this one, as when the team gets hot, they are almost unbeatable. Southampton is not a weak team, so Manchester City cannot take them lightly, or else what West Ham did to Chelsea could happen to them. I will take Manchester City against the spread at -1.5 (-105), as I do not see Manchester City struggling much in this match.
