Inter Milan play host to Brescia in Serie A soccer action from the San Siro on Wednesday afternoon.
Inter Milan come into this match in 3rd place on 61 points with a record of 18 wins, 7 draws and 3 losses following a 2-1 win over Parma in their last match. In the victory over Parma, Inter fell behind after just 15 minutes of play and the goal held for the rest of the first half and most of the season half until Stefan de Vrij tied the game at one in the 84th minute for Inter. Inter Milan caught a break in the 85th when Parma went down to ten men and Inter made Parma pay two minutes after that with Alessandro Bastoni scoring the go-ahead goal in the 87th. Inter would on for the win and the three points that go along with it. Romelu Lukaku leads Inter in scoring with 19 goals on the year while Lautaro Martinez has 12 goals and Antonio Candreva has a team-high 7 assists this season. Samir Handanovic leads Inter Milan in goal, conceding 0.96 goals per 90 minutes with 7 clean sheets in 26 league appearances this season.
Brescia on the other hand, aren’t alone in the league basement, tied with Spal on 18 points with a record of 4 wins, 6 draws and 18 losses after a 2-2 draw with Genoa last time out. In the tie with Genoa, Alfredo Donnarumma gave Brescia the lead in the 10th minute and Alessandro Semprini would double that lead just three minutes later. Genoa pulled a goal back in the 38th and scored the equalizer in the 69th minute. Neither side would find a go-ahead goal the rest of the way, leaving the points to be shared at full time. Donnarumma’s goal gives hima. Team-high 6 goals on the year while Mario Balotelli has 5 goals and Sandro Tonali has a team-high 5 assists. Jesse Joronen is Brescia’s top goalkeeper, conceding 1.71 goals per 90 minutes with 4 clean sheets in 24 league appearances this season.
Heavy plus money is always going to be worth a look, but then you see it’s Brescia playing Inter and that changes the whole dynamic. Brescia’s simply one of the worst teams in Serie A this year and are probably looking at relegation in the coming weeks. Inter on the other hand, has Champions League on the horizon for next year if they can keep pace and will be looking to ruffle some feathers at the top of the table down the stretch. I just don’t see a situation where Brescia keeps this close, so I’ll side with inter to win and over 2.5 goals as the only reasonably priced bet here.
