Everton (WDLDL) and Leicester City (LDDWW) will meet on Wednesday, July 1st for an English Premier League match. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM EST start time and it will be played at Goodison Park.
Everton is coming off a 1-0 victory over the worst team in the English Premier League in Norwich City. It took Everton a little while to get going, as the team did not score in the first half of play. In the 55th minute, Michael Keane found the back of the net for Everton to make it 1-0. Everton owned only 53% of the possession advantage in the match, which many had expected to be a bit larger. Everton did have a total of five shots on target, as well as five corner kicks in the match. The defense held up for Everton, as Norwich City was only allowed one shot on target in the match. Leicester City will be a bigger battle for Everton, so they will have to step their game up a bit.
Leicester City wrapped up its efforts in the English FA Cup, as the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Chelsea, 1-0. The match was closely contested for a large part of the 90 minutes, but it was clear that Chelsea was just a tad more in control of the game. Chelsea and Leicester City both had ample amounts of scoring chances in the match, despite only one goal being scored between the two clubs. Ross Barkley and Chelsea finally broke the 0-0 score with a goal in the 63rd minute. Leicester City was able to get three shots on target and earn seven total corner kicks in the loss.
The last time Everton and Leicester City met was on December 18th of 2019. That match resulted in a 2-2 draw between the two teams. Both teams have won two out of the last five meetings between them.
I have not been convinced with the way Everton is playing since the break. The team's only win came against a poor Norwich team, and even that victory did not come easy for Everton. Leicester City is not going to have much rest heading into this match on the road, so this would be a good opportunity for Everton to pick up a win. With all of this being said, I think the best bet on the three-way Money Line has to be the Draw at +230, as I cannot trust Everton enough to take them with only small value.
