Arsenal (WWLLW) and Norwich City (LLLLW) will meet on Wednesday, July 1st for an English Premier League match. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM EST start time and it will be played at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal's last match was featured in the English FA Cup quarterfinals against Sheffield United on June 28th. Arsenal struck first in the first half, as the team was awarded a penalty in the 25th minute. Nicolas Pepe cashed in on his penalty shot attempt, and Arsenal took the early 1-0 lead. Although the first half was controlled by Arsenal, the second half was ALL Sheffield United. Sheffield United had scoring chance after scoring chance, as well as four shots on target. Arsenal was able to defend and deny Sheffield United for a majority of the second half, but in the 87th minute, David McGoldrick and Sheffield United finally broke through and found the back of the net. The score was even at 1-1, and it looked as if the two clubs were headed to extra time. All of this would change when Arsenal went on the counterattack in the 90+1 minute and Dani Ceballos scored a beauty for Arsenal to give them the 2-1 victory in stunning fashion.
Norwich City also played in the English FA Cup quarterfinals, but they were not as successful as Arsenal. The match was on June 27th against Manchester United, and although Norwich was outplayed the entire match, they did make it interesting at the very least. Manchester United was held scoreless in the first half after various scoring opportunities. In the 51st minute, Odion Ighalo scored the first goal of the match to make it 1-0 Manchester United. United would keep the pressure on and threaten to score many other times, but they just could not find that separation goal. In the 75th minute, Manchester United and its supporters were stunned when Todd Cantwell scored the equalizer on the only shot on target for Norwich. With some life given back to Norwich City, everything was lost when Norwich's Timm Klose was sent off with a red card. Manchester United found the winning goal in the latter stages of extra time and advanced to the semifinals of the FA Cup.
The last time Arsenal and Norwich City met was on December 1st of 2019. That match was a 2-2 draw in front of the Norwich City supporters. Arsenal has won three of the last five meetings between them and Norwich City, while the other two matches were draws.
Arsenal is the heavy favorite in this match, and I am not so sure that is justified. Arsenal has not looked too hot as of late, and even though Norwich has been awful, -230 on the Win-Line is pretty steep for Arsenal. I am going to side with BTTS (Both teams to score), as I think Norwich can find at least one goal in this match, with Arsenal probably scoring two or three.
