Brighton (DWDLD) and Manchester United (WWDWW) will meet on Tuesday, June 30th for an English Premier League match. The match is scheduled for a 3:15 PM EST start time and it will be played at Amex Stadium.
Brighton is coming off a 0-0 defensive battle against Leicester City in its last match in Premier League play. Brighton is currently 15th in the English Premier League standings, so they still have some work to do if they want to avoid relegation from the league. Earning points against tough competition like Leicester City is exactly what the doctor ordered for a team like Brighton, as every point counts this late in the season. Although Leicester City owned the possession advantage, Brighton was still able to fire a total of 10 shots with two on target in the draw. Brighton also had seven corner kicks in the match, which shows that they were competitive.
Manchester United is coming off a real clunker of a performance in its last match, but this game was in English FA Cup action. Manchester United took on the worst-place team in the EPL in Norwich City, and although Man U was victorious, it was an ugly win. Manchester United was held off the scoreboard in the first half, but in the 51st minute, Odion Ighalo scored for Manchester United to make it 1-0. Somehow and someway, Todd Cantwell found the equalizer for Norwich City in the 75th minute with a wicked shot. That was actually the only shot on target for Norwich in the match, but at least they made it count. In the 89th minute, Norwich City's dreams of a semifinal seemed to end in a brutal way, when Timm Klose was sent off with a red card. However, this would not be a typical death sentence, as Manchester United still struggled to find anything on offense in extra time. Finally, in the 118th minute, Harry Maguire scored a really ugly goal that bounced around the box from defender-to-defender to give Manchester United the lead and the inevitable victory. Manchester United will have to be a lot sharper in this match, as Brighton will not be taking them lightly.
The last time Manchester United and Brighton played against each other was on November 10th of 2019. Manchester United won that match via a 3-1 score.
I think Manchester United is going to bounce-back from its lackluster performance and win this match against Brighton. Martial should be well-rested and I expect him to be a difference-maker. I will take Manchester United against the spread at -0.5, 1 (EVEN).
