Norwich City (LLWWL) and Everton (DLDLW) will meet on Wednesday, June 24th for an English Premier League match. This match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM EST start time and will be played at Carrow Road.
This will be the second game for both of these teams since the break due to COVID-19.
Norwich City is coming off a 3-0 loss to Southampton in its last match. Norwich's strong first half proved to be for absolutely nothing, as the team completely fell apart after the first 45 minutes of the match. Southampton's Danny Ings scored the first goal of the match for in the 49th minute, which proved to be the decider. For good measure, Southampton added two more goals, one by Stuart Armstrong only five minutes later in the 54th minute. The other goal was scored by Nathan Redmond in the 79th minute to make it 3-0 final. Norwich is most likely going to be relegated after the season ends, but you never know, crazier things have happened and there is still a lot of soccer to play.
Everton was able to do something that not many teams have been able to this season, and that was not lose to Liverpool. Everton earned the 0-0 draw to the titan-like Liverpool team on Sunday, giving Liverpool only its second draw of the entire season. Everton focused on the defense side of the ball to avoid a loss, which proved to be a smart strategy. Anytime you play a team like Liverpool, not losing is a victory in itself. Everton only had 30% of the possession in the match, but nonetheless they escaped with the point.
The last time Norwich City and Everton played each other was on November 23rd, 2019. Norwich City was actually the winners in that match, 2-0. In fact, Norwich City has won the last two matches against Everton, which is very surprising to see.
Yes, Norwich City did defeat Everton in the last meeting; and yes, Norwich City needs this match a lot more than Everton does, but I have to take the better team in this match. Everton played great on the defensive side of the ball against Liverpool, and I think they can keep a clean sheet against Norwich. I will take Everton to win at -110.
