Manchester City (WLWWW) and Burnley (DDWWD) will meet on Monday, June 22nd for an English Premier League (EPL) match. The match is scheduled for a 3:00 PM EST start time and will be played at Etihad Stadium.

This will be the first match since the break for Burnley, as they have not played a match since March 7th. Manchester City was already able to get a match in against Arsenal this past Wednesday.

Manchester City defeated Arsenal by the final score of 3-0 on Wednesday, June 17th. This 3-0 route of a credible team like Arsenal was exactly what Manchester City wanted coming back from a long break. Although Manchester City has almost no chance of winning the premier league by catching Liverpool (22 points ahead of them), they are still playing hard for a top-three finish in the EPL. In the win over Arsenal, Manchester City was able to strike in added time of the first half thanks to Raheem Sterling. After halftime, Manchester City was awarded a penalty shot and Kevin De Bruyne cashed in on the PK to make it 2-0 in the 51' minute. Phil Foden added another goal for good measure for Manchester City, and they took home the victory, 3-0.

Burnley was in pretty decent form before the break, as the club was able to draw or win in all five of their last five matches. Burnley is directly in the middle of the pack at 10th in the English Premier League standings with 39 points. Burnley drew against Tottenham Hotspur in their last match before the break, 1-1 in English Premier League action. Burnley has the tall and unattractive task to take on Manchester City for their first match back from break, which will definitely be a great test for them out of the gates.

The last match these two teams played against each other was on December 3rd, 2019. That match was a win for Manchester, 4-1. Manchester City is currently on a four-match win streak over Burnely in their past four matches against each other.

This is going to be tough for Burnley, as not only do they have to play Manchester City, but they have to take them on after a long break. Not to mention, Manchester City was already able to get their feet wet back in EPL action with their victory on Wednesday. I like Manchester City on Monday, but there are not too many desirable bets regarding value on the docket. I will take "Time of first-team goal" Manchester City before 25:00 minutes. I think Manchester City comes out hot right from the starting whistle, and Burnley may get caught sleeping.
