Real Betis and Granada square off in La Liga soccer action from the Esatdio Benito Villamarin on Monday afternoon.
Real Betis come into this match sitting in 13th place on 33 points with a record of 8 wins, 9 draws and 11 losses after a 2-0 loss to Sevilla in their last match. In the loss to Sevilla, the match was scoreless at halftime with no goals as well as no bookings, but Sevilla would break the game open in the second half as the hosts scored two goals six minutes apart to take a 2-0 lead that Betis would be unable to chip away at, despite owning a 54% possession advantage in the losing effort. Loren Moron leads Real Betis in scoring with 9 goals while Emerson has a team-high 5 assists. Joel Robles is Real Betis’ top goalkeeper, conceding 1.38 goals per 90 minutes with 4 clean sheets in 27 league appearances this season.
Granada on the other hand, enter this match on 41 points with a record of 12 wins, 5 draws and 11 losses after a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Getafe in their last match. In the win over Getafe, Granada fell behind after just 20 minutes and spent the rest of the first half and a large chunk of the second half playing catch-up, but Carlos Fernandez would tie the game at one in the 70th minute and would take the lead for Granada in the 79th by completing his brace with his second goal of the game. Getafe would try to get back into the game, but Granada would hold on for the win and send Getafe back empty-handed. Fernandez and Darwin Machis are tied for the team-high with 6 goals this season with each logging 3 assists as well while Antonio Puertas has 5 goals and Roberto Soldado and Angel Montoro each have a team-high 4 assists. Rui da Silva is Granada’s top goalkeeper, conceding 1.12 goals per 90 minutes with 10 clean sheets in 26 league appearances this season.
Betis being favored at home makes sense, but there aren’t fans in the stands so there won’t be any home field advantage for Betis in this one. On the other hand, Granada has to be on some serious confidence after rallying to beat Getafe and the game is on short rest so that may have a carryover effect here. With that said, even though their last few road games were against tough opponents like Sevilla, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, Granada hasn’t been great on the road in their own right. Two of the last three meetings at Betis have seen the game end all square, and I think we’re on the way to another draw here as Granada tries to pick up some road form. I’ll take the draw as my main bet as well as putting some on the correct score of 1-1 at sizeable plus money.
Chris’s Pick Draw +245 / 1-1 Correct Score +550
