Over 2.5 (-225), Under 2.5 (+175)
Manchester City is hosting Leicester City at Etihad Stadium in a derby match of round 18 of the English Premier League.
Manchester City is finally looking like a team that we used to watch and love. High ball possession, a lot of passes, plenty of created chances and shots on is what makes this team one of the best in the world. City has won their last 3 games and has scored 10 goals during that stretch while conceding only 2 goals. In their last EPL match versus Arsenal away from home, Manchester City was brilliant with 58% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, and 90% of the correct passes. Kevin De Bruyne was the man of the match and he scored 2 goals and assisted for one more goal. Manchester City has won this match 0-3. With 35 points, massive 47 scored goals, and 19 conceded goals Manchester City is in third place in the EPL. Sergio Aguero and Sterling have scored 9 goals for Manchester City this season, while De Bruyne added 6 goals and 10 assists and is playing in the best form of his life. Sane, Laporte, and stones are injured while Aguero is expected to be in the lineup after missing some games due to an injury. City has qualified to the Top 16 in the Champions League after winning their group and has drawn one of the best teams in the world in the first round of the knockout stage, Real Madrid. The first game will be played in Madrid, while the second one will be played 2 weeks later in Manchester. City is 14 points behind Liverpool who is at the top of the EPL and I think that this race is lost to them, but they certainly have the chance to go far in the Champions League and I think that is something they should focus on.
Leicester is playing fantastic soccer this season and is reminding us of the same Leicester team that won the title a few years ago. Leicester has lost only 2 games this season and is in 2nd place in the EPL with 39 points, 40 scored goals, and only 11 conceded goals which makes Leicester the best defensive team in the EPL. In their last 7 EPL games, Leicester has scored 15 goals which are an average of just over 2 goals per game. In their last EPL match against Norwich at home, Leicester was the better team with 56% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 12 corner kicks, and 84% of the correct passes. This was one of the best games I watched in a while and it ended in a 1-1 draw. Vardy is playing in fantastic form and has scored 16 goals in 17 matches for Leicester and is the top goal scorer in the EPL in front of Aubameyang and Abraham who both have 11 goals. Matty James is the only injured player and will not be in the lineup. This Leicester’s rebirth started late last season when they hired coach Brendan Rodgers and since then Leicester is playing better and better in every aspect of the game. Leicester is in second place with 10 points less than Liverpool, and I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I don’t think anyone can catch up to them, not even Leicester.
This should be a fantastic match between two of the best-attacking teams in the EPL. Manchester City hasn’t lost any of their last 3 games against Leicester at home, but I wouldn’t write off Leicester in this game. Leicester is playing better defense, they have killer counterattacks, and one of the best goalkeepers in the EPL. I don’t doubt that Manchester City will have the majority of the possession, but I believe Leicester will know how to use that to their advantage. The plus money with Leicester is fantastic, and I will side with them here because I think Leicester has a shot to win 3 points here.
