Over 2.5 (-125), Under 2.5 (+100)
Tottenham is welcoming Sheffield United to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in part of round 12 of the English Premier League.
Tottenham is in a gigantic slump right now and has won only 2 of their last 10 games from which only 1 was in the EPL. In the Champions League Tottenham is playing against Crvena Zvezda away from home this week and has to win if they want to get closer to Bayern at the top of their group. In the EPL Tottenham is in the 11th place in the standings with only 13 points from 11 games. The defense has been a huge problem for Tottenham where they conceded 16 goals so far and it doesn't help that their star goalie Lloris is injured. In their last EPL match against Everton, Tottenham had 53% of ball possession, but only 2 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 78% of correct passes. Tottenham had the lead until 97th minute but Everton came back with a late goal and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. The result was secondary in this match because Everton's Andre Gomes suffered a horrific broken leg injury and won't play for at least a year. Kane is Tottenham's leading goalscorer with 6 goals which is a part of the problem for Tottenham because no one else is scoring goals. Despite these struggles, I still think Tottenham is one of the best teams in the EPL and I believe they will turn things around and end up in the top 5 this season.
Sheffield United is doing an amazing job in the EPL this season and is in the 6th place in the standings with 16 points. With only 8 conceded goals so far, Sheffield is the best defensive team alongside Leicester in the EPL and that is the main reason why Sheffield is that high in the standings. Sheffield is pretty consistent this season and hasn't lost any of their last 4 matches and has conceded only 1 goal in those 4 games. In their last match against Burnley, Sheffield was fantastic with 45% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 69% of correct passes. Sheffield scored 3 goals in the first half and they won this game 3-0 at home. Sheffield isn't an offensive powerhouse and two of their leading goalscorers are Mousset and Lundstram with 3 goals each and both of them are expected to be in the lineup for this match. Sheffield is the newcomer to the EPL this season and usually, the team that gets promoted to strong and competitive like the EPL doesn't do this good but coach Wilder is doing a great job and always gets the maximum out of his players. Everyone is happy and satisfied in Sheffield United right now, but I think that they will drop a few places until the end of the season because they lack depth which is crucial in the season as long as the EPL is.
Away team has never won a game between Tottenham and Sheffield. I know that Tottenham is due for a win and despite playing in the Champions League earlier this week, I will side with Tottenham because they are playing at home and I don't think Sheffield can stay undefeated for 5 games in a row.
