Over 2.5 (-188), Under 2.5 (+150)
Chelsea is hosting Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in round 12 of the English Premier League.
Chelsea is playing fantastic soccer and is in great form with only 1 loss from the last 9 games. In the EPL Chelsea is in 4th place ins the standings with 23 points, just 2 points away from second place and Manchester City. Chelsea has scored 25 goals so far this season and conceded 17 goals but their defense is getting better and better with every game. In their last match in the EPL against Watford, Chelsea was a much better team with 68% of ball possession, 10 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and high 90% of correct passes. Pulisic and Abraham each scored a goal and Chelsea won this match 1-2. Abraham has been Chelsea's discovery of the season and he is their top goalscorer with 9 goals while Pulisic is finally showing why was he signed and has scored 4 goals in the last 2 games. There is a lot of injured players in Chelsea including Rudiger and Christensen who could certainly help Chelsea on the defensive end, and Kante who is one of the best midfielders in the EPL. Since Lampard was signed as the head coach, Chelsea has been reborn and they are playing attractive, fun and attacking soccer, a completely different than before under any other coach. Jorginho and Kovacic were struggling whole last season, but with this new game style and new coach both of them are Chelsea's best players and if they stay healthy Chelsea will have a good season. Chelsea played one of the best matches in the Champions League history against Ajax this week and the game ended in a 4-4 draw.
Crystal Palace is playing sloppy soccer this season and can’t get consistent despite the undeniable quality they have. With 4 wins, 4 losses, and 3 draws, Palace is in 9th place in the EPL with 15 points. Crystal Palace has scored only 10 goals so far and that is their biggest problem. Wilfred Zaha is the player that is supposed to carry this team but he is in terrible form and coach Hodgson has to do everything he can to get him in the goal-scoring form. In their last EPL match against Leicester, Palace had 44% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and low 78% of correct passes. Crystal Palace has lost this match 0-2. Jordan Ayew is the leading goalscorer for Palace with 4 goals and is expected to be in the starting lineup for this game. Wickham is injured while Sakho is listed as questionable. Crystal Palace was playing great last season where they ended up in 12th place but the difference is that their offense was clicking last season and Palace was scoring a lot of goals. I'm not saying that won't happen this season as well but 11 games are already gone and if Crystal Palace wants to climb the standings they need to start scoring more goals. Wilfred Zaha is Palace's best player and there was a lot of rumors in the summer about him leaving to a bigger club which is partially the problem for his bad form but it's almost certain that he will leave Crystal Palace this winter because there is a lot of money in the question.
There is no way I'm betting against Chelsea in this form despite the midweek Champions League match. I see Chelsea getting another win at home.
